Marissa is a senior with a longtime passion for studying history and religion. As the daughter of a U.S. Airforce officer, Marissa moved around as a child and lived all over the U.S. and Germany. The exposure to different cultures inspired Marissa’s desire to study other cultures through various perspectives including International Studies in college. She has competed in Lincoln-Douglas debate and extemporaneous speaking across the U.S. over her high school career, and she has also become a part of Model UN as a senior. She reads avidly to add to her knowledge from these activities and satisfy her curiosity. She firmly believes that history and religion play a big part in modern day politics, and most of her research is based on this idea.
